We're excited to welcome the Class of 2030 to the Wolfpack!

Join us for Freshman Orientation on Wednesday, August 19, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. for an opportunity to kick off your high school journey with confidence.

During orientation, students will:
📚 Pick up their class schedules
👋 Meet their teachers
🐺 Get to know the administration
⭐ Learn about clubs and activities while meeting potential club officers
❄️ Enjoy a visit from the Kona Ice Truck (students should come prepared to purchase a treat if they'd like!)

This is a great chance to become familiar with campus, ask questions, and start making connections before the first day of school.

We are gearing up for another successful school year!

Regular attendance is one of the greatest predictors of student success. Every day a student is in school, they have the opportunity to learn, grow, build relationships, and prepare for their future.

Please take a moment to review our attendance policy for the upcoming school year. A few important reminders:

🕖 Instruction begins promptly at 7:50 a.m.
📝 Excuse notes must be submitted within 5 school days of an absence.
📬 Attendance letters and meetings are required as unexcused absences accumulate in accordance with district policy and North Carolina law.

We appreciate your partnership in making school attendance a priority. Together, we can ensure every student has the opportunity to achieve their full potential.

Thanks to Jordan McPherson and Woodmen of the World for donating flags to Whiteville City Schools.

Whiteville City Schools was honored to receive the Purple Star Designation for all five of our campuses: Whiteville Primary School, Edgewood Elementary School, Central Middle School, Whiteville High School, and North Whiteville Academy.

The Purple Star Designation is awarded to schools that demonstrate military-friendly practices and a strong commitment to supporting military students and their families.

Whiteville City Schools also received the Legacy Award.

Dr. Williams and the Board recognized several outstanding students for their achievements in writing and the arts.

Whiteville Primary School students Jack Sibbett, Madyx Wilkinson, Emily Wallace, Luke Kinlaw, and Ivy Delbasty were recognized as 2025–2026 Young Authors Writing Project State Winners.

Whiteville City Schools students Lyric Brown, Terri Ward, and Katelyn Tyree were also recognized as Scholastic Art & Writing Award recipients.

Special Announcement

Due to the increased likelihood of a winter storm in our area, Whiteville City Schools will operate on a remote learning schedule on Monday, February 2, 2026. All school buildings will be closed, and all activities will be postponed.

Each school will provide specific instructions regarding remote learning. Please stay informed by checking their communication channels.
